3 Months Old!

Emerson is three months old today!!!! Our little girl isn't so little anymore...as you can see...haha!

So....she is still the queen of spit up, but at this point I think we've just come to accept it and we've learned how to deal with it. The first couple of months were so frustrating, but we've now just accepted that she's going to go through at least three outfits and bibs everyday, and that we're probably going to get covered in spit up. My co-worker recommended putting her on probiotics because that helped her little guy, but so far we haven't seen much of an improvement.

I joined a mom's group a couple of weeks ago. Mostly the group is for me to socialize with some other moms because none of my friends have babies yet. I've only gone to two things so far, but a few people I've met have been nice so I think we'll keep going. I'm hoping we'll meet a couple moms that we can get together with outside of the group who have little ones around Emmy's age so that she can socialize with some other babies too!

Although I'm going to miss the summer, Fall is by far my favourite season and I'm already loving the cooler evenings for walks. I truly can't believe that Emmy is already three months old! I am so happy that I still have an entire year to spend with my precious girly before I go back to work.

Here's some tidbits about the past four weeks:

- We spent an entire week at grandma's cottage and Emmy had a few trips to the beach
- She has started sleeping for some longer stretches at night, at the cottage she was consistently doing a
5-hour stretch, then a 3-hour stretch...but she's been a bit all over the place since then
- The longest stretch she has slept is 7 hours straight (at 12 weeks) and it was awesome!
- Our big girl is now sleeping in her crib!!! We moved her into her crib at 10 weeks, and she's slept
  there every night since.
- Emmy is doing great during tummy time, she often lifts her head up to  90-degree angle and supports
  herself with her arms
- She is one smiley little girly, she smiles all the time now, often all by herself without us even trying to
make her smile. She has also done a couple of tiny little giggles, sort of, but no real laugh yet
- She is getting pretty good at entertaining herself, I can often lay her on the floor and she'll look around
at things and coo to herself for quite a while
- She's already outgrown a ton of her clothes :(
- At 11 weeks old, Emerson weighed 15lbs and was 24" long!!!! FYI - That's huge, like the 95th percentile for weight! (Also, she only weighed 13.3lbs at 8 weeks)
- She screamed bloody murder when they gave her her two month shots, but they handed her to mommy and she stopped immediately :)
- She has lost a bit of hair, but still has lots of it!
- Her cheeks are ridiculous, everyone who looks at her says: "Oh my god! Look at her cheeks!"..ha!
- She looks like a giant next to all of the other babies at the mom's group who are the same age
- She is becoming wild in the bathtub, we now have to put towels on the floor when we bath her
- She has become better at nursing, and now only needs to nurse for about 15 mins. on one side
- She is awake alllll the time now, but she pretty consistently has an afternoon nap around 2pm
- She's developed really good neck strength and can go in her Bumbo chair now, she can pull herself up holding onto my fingers, and she loves pushing herself into standing while on my lap
- This month Emerson did the following: went to the cottage for a week, visited her grandma and grandpa in Clarksburg, went to Buskerfest, took her first trip to the St. Jacob's market, went out for breakfast with mommy and her work friends, went to Mississauga to visit grandma, and lots of other fun outings!

Here's more photos of Emerson's third month:
